Char Magnifico brings more than her voice to the stage. She possesses – and delivers – passion with every song. With musical interests ranging from jazz and delta blues to hard rock and experimental, to atmospheric and disco, she’s innovated a unique style all her own.
She grew up with vocal lessons in New York (and still keeps in touch with her teacher to this day). Over the years she has taught harmony, performed as a soloist, and studied opera. But her “home” is in the high energy rocking sounds of Vintage Radio.
Vintage Radio began as “Vintage” in Memphis, TN where Char led the band for nearly 15 years as one of the city’s premier acts. In addition to perform at almost every venue in Memphis, the band toured surrounding states across the Midwest and Southeast. They performed special shows such as “The Sgt. Pepper Experience” where Vintage performed the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album in its entirety at a sold out theatre for the album’s 50th Anniversary. Char and Louis also organized an independent music festival in 2020, The Unnamed Music Festival, featuring 7 top bands. Seemingly unstoppable, one of Char’s mottos is “Tell me I can’t and I will.” Vintage relocated to Florida in 2021 (renaming themselves Vintage Radio) where they quickly became recognized for their unusual level of talent and spectacular showmanship on stage.
In addition to performing with Vintage Radio, she and her husband Louis Magnifico run the creative entertainment outlet The Traveling Twosome. The Traveling Twosome produces hilarious short films, commercial parodies, fake PSAs, and even custom videos for their fans around the world.
Fun Facts:
– Char is called “Wonder Woman” by some. Why? She is known internationally for short films and skits where she portrays a blonde Wonder Woman. These videos have been produced by The Traveling Twosome.
– Char and her husband Louis were trained by pro wrestlers and they have even stepped in the ring against each other for a match at the Clear Channel Metroplex in Little Rock, Arkansas. This event was filmed for an episode of their Traveling Twosome TV Show, “A Day in the Life” which also featured an interview with Lynn Margulies, girlfriend of the late Andy Kaufman. Char won the match…
